UC Merced to Host Public Health Cost Analysis and Return on Investment Workshop

The Center for Health Evaluation and Economic Research at UC Merced will be hosting a two-day workshop on “Cost Analysis and Return on Investment of Healthcare Interventions” on September 24 and 25 in Merced. The workshop will cover cost analysis and budget impact analysis in healthcare, as well as return on investment and cost effectiveness analysis in healthcare decision making.

CHEAC Member and Santa Barbara County Public Health Department Director Van Do-Reynoso will be co-presenting with UC Merced Professor Paul Brown. Outcomes of the workshop include:

  • Understanding approaches and techniques for conducting a cost of illness or budget impact analysis
  • Understanding of approaches and techniques for quantifying outcomes from healthcare interventions
  • Knowledge of how to combine this information into healthcare decision-making using return on investment or cost effectiveness analysis
  • Continued assistance in completing related projects

The cost of the workshop is $50 per day, which covers lunches and workshop materials. Travel and accommodations are not included. Workshop registration is available here.
