Topics include: Defining Public Health; International and Federal public health: WHO/CDC; History of public health in California; Ten essential public health services and foundational capabilities; California Department of Public Health: Organizational structure/Budget/California Health and Safety Codes/California Code of Regulations; Local health departments: California Health and Safety Codes/California Code of Regulations/Mandated local health department positions/Communication with CDPH programs; Accreditation; Note: This course will not discuss the COVID pandemic response.
